7 Podcasts Every Entrepreneur Should Listen To

HOW I BUILT THIS
This podcast has a really cool concept, hosted by NPR, it is about innovators and entrepreneurs and a look at the catalyst for their business. It looks at businesses we’ve all pretty much heard of, yet don’t really know the story behind. One of my favourites is the interview with Rolling Stones founder, Jann Wenner. Others include, the founders of Buzzfeed, Five Guys, Rent the Runway and Kickstarter.

GIRLBOSS RADIO
Hosted by the founder of Nasty Gal and #Girlboss Media, Sophia Amoruso delves into conversations with the leading women in business today, from creatives like Courtney Love, to the founder and CEO of Glossier, Emily Weiss. Lighthearted, fun, and easy to listen to, Girlboss radio is perfect for those who want a not-so-serious take on the business and the creative industry, while still learning valuable information.

THE SCHOOL OF GREATNESS – LEWIS HOWES
Chances are, you have heard about this podcast before. The subjects Howes interviews are always big time players in business and he manages to ask curious questions that lead to a very in-depth interview. He has interviewed Arianna Huffington and Gary vaynerchuck for this ‘Entrepreneur Guide’ but not only this, he also has a ton of content dealing with wellness and productivity, with leading experts in the field.

SOCIAL MEDIA EXAMINER
Michael Stelzner knows just about everything you need to know about social media. It has everything from how to improve your Facebook ads to Linkedin Ads, and everything in between. It provides the best information by interviewing social media professionals. The best bit? You can also download the podcasts, at the click of a button, from the website!

THE TIM FERRIS SHOW
This is a really obvious one, but I couldn’t just not mention it! It’s that good. Tim Ferries is the author of The 4-Hour Work Week, and in this podcast he ‘deconstructs world-class performers from eclectic areas’ so you understand the fields better. With 260 interviews at the moment, and such a  wide variety ranging from celebrities to sportsmen, it would be impossible to list even a few of his incredible interviewees! Check it out instead.

THIS WEEK IN START-UPS
Every week, Jason Calacanis, and a group of guest experts in a particular field discuss stories about entrepreneurship around web companies.  It is great if you want weekly updates on the happenings in Silicon Valley, and with over 300 podcasts episodes, there’s more than enough to get you started.

GARY VAYNERCHUCK
No one is willing to give you as much value for free, as this guy. The founder of VaynerMedia, he has invested in Snapchat, Uber, Birchbox, Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr. He’s willing to share his secrets in this podcast. He also is someone who tells it straight and direct, with a certain amount of positive and vibrant energy.

  • I really haven’t checked out podcasts yet, these are great suggestions. I especially think the last one could be helpful for me right now with my new blog. Social media can be overwhelming!

    • Social media can be a lot to handle. That’s why I created NocturnalThrive, to help businesses/blogs with their social media game in a way that provides the best information I’ve learnt over the years. Gary Vaynerchuk is really good with social media advice. x
