The Perfect Formula for Glowing Skin

Everybody wants that fresh, dewy glow that looks like you just walked out of the salty seawater with the sun glistening against pure blue water. Often, with the toxins and pollination of our skin, it feels like a pipedream. Achieving this divine, glowing skin is actually a lot more simple (but, as humans we tend to overcomplicate it) so wave goodbye to dull skin by implementing these tips:

Water, water, and more water! Yes, we’ve heard it all before that hydration is vital to bouncy rejuvenation of the skin, and yet it’s so mediocre and not very exciting, it tends to be overlooked in search of some new hype product on the market. Our bodies, I should remind you, is 64% water, and as the skin is the largest organ in the body, you need that hydration. Drinking 8 glasses of water is the usual estimate but drinking more will never hurt. It plays a vital part in getting glowing skin. Remember: your piss should be clear. Also, replace your copious amounts of caffeine with water.

Bonus Tip: Using a water-based mist before applying your skincare products is also a great way to hydrate your skin.

Fruits in water.

Warning: yes, you will be peeing an irritating amount (but at least you’ll get your exercise in?)

It’s irritation to write this one, because it’s very easy to tell people “stop stressing!” but with the endless amount of stressors in life, it can be difficult and seem impossible. I do not mean to undermine the factors causing anyone’s stress. Nonetheless, being stress-free is key to having glowing skin. If you could evaluate your thoughts for a day, I bet you would find a lot of common stressors you could control and devalue, upon realising that they are serving you no greater purpose or benefit, but instead is weighing you down. Stress isn’t always the huge life events, but being the small things too, like being stuck in traffic and stressing about being late to work. Remember, the stress is not benefitting you! The greater and happier you feel about life, the more it’s going to reflect in your glowing skin.

Those lush leafy greens, and eating your heart out with oranges. To me, this is the main tip for glowing skin and you’re prrrrrobably not going to like it at first (and then fall in love with it later on) Diet is vital to having glowing skin and no amount of excess products is necessary if you are taking care of your body, from the inside out. As tempting as it is to look for a quick fix, your diet will not only give you glowing skin, but will make you feel better – in every aspect of your day to day. Eating healthy does not have to be complex of extortionate. A diet high in Vitamin C and anti-oxidants will keep your body running smoothly. You’re even free to eat dark chocolate!

Pro Tip: Drinking apple cider vinegar diluted in water works wonders for your digestive system.

Dairy is also often a huge culprit. You don’t have to quit it completely, but reducing your intake of dairy and seeing the reaction on your skin in just one month is a great way to test if it’s clogging your pores.

Drop the alcohol, smoking, sugar and caffeine.

Your lucks in! If you’re struggling to maintain a healthy diet, there are other ways to give your face the antioxidant it requires. While eating healthy is a must, these serums below are a great way to get glowing skin. If you want to learn more about why serums are essential for your skincare routine – read up on it here.

This one from The Body Shop is incredible. Or the Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask. Using a konjac sponge is also really useful.

Glycolic Acid is an AHA substance.
Aloe Vera Gel (or the plant)

Make-up wise, this is the best highlighter to use. Getting that extra glow every morning is perfect when you’re using the correct highlighter.
